Khamraeva Elizaveta Aleksandrovna

Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, professor, head of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language of the Moscow Pedagogical State University (MPGU), director of the inter-university centre for bilingual and multicultural education at the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia. Author of Russian-language teaching series for bilingual children in Russia and abroad, and co-author of sets for teaching the children of compatriots living abroad and foreign children studying Russian as a first or second foreign language. She has more than 200 publications, including 46 textbooks endorsed by the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Academy of Education, and has been awarded a certificate of merit by the Ministry of Education for creating a new generation of textbooks of Russian as a state language. Research interests: bilingual education, the language-didactic assessment of children studying Russian as a foreign language and of bilingual children, the Russian language in bilingual schools in Russia, the study of native languages in Russia, and Russian as a foreign language for adults and children.
