A study aid on Russian conversational speech for foreign students at the advanced stage of learning (the Third Certification Level of general language proficiency), that is, for all those who have mastered the basic course of Russian grammar and wish to activate and expand their vocabulary.
The aid consists of eight main topics (sections): 1. Travel. Weather. 2. Free time. 3. Making acquaintance (formal and informal). 4. Clothes. 5. A person's character and appearance. 6. Food. 7. Health. 8. Home. Household chores. Each section includes mini-monologues, texts (some of them on Russian area studies) and exercises for developing speech and practising grammatical material (chiefly those difficulties that require constant repetition). A number of sections contain a dictionary of thematic vocabulary.
The aid is supplied with answer keys to the exercises, so it can be used both in work with a teacher and for independent study. A CD is included.
