Russia: The Country and Its People. Area Studies through Language
The study aid is intended for foreign university students at the intermediate and advanced stages of study, for pupils of lyceums, gymnasiums and colleges with in-depth study of Russian, and for everyone who wishes to get to know Russia and Russians better.
The aim of the aid is to broaden and deepen knowledge about the country of the language being studied through interesting textual material of an area-studies nature. The system of pre-text and post-text tasks makes it possible to consolidate and activate the lexical and grammatical units of the lesson.
The aid consists of 6 sections comprising 16 lessons. Each lesson is a clearly structured thematic and lexical-grammatical set that is a natural continuation of the previous one and a component of the section. Each section can be studied independently of the others. The aid is designed for 60-80 hours of classroom time.
The uniqueness and novelty of the aid lie in its focus on the dialogue of cultures.
