The textbook is devoted to the studies of one of the best literary works of the XIX century. The book consists of fourteen lessons. All texts are provided with the necessary commentaries and footnotes. New words and word combinations are introduced in the form of footnotes and are translated into English. Only contextual meaning of a word or a phrase is given. Various grammar and vocabulary exercises considerably facilitate reading and help the students to learn the material.
