Reading Chekhov - speaking Russian

The goal of the textbook is to acquaint foreign students with the stories by A.P. Chekhov, to develop their reading skills and to a certain extent those of speaking and writing. The stories selected reflect the most important ethic and social problems still topical for the modern age. All stories are supplied with linguistic and the country's history commentaries. To make the studies easier texts are divided into the small fragments with complete content. Assignments after the text allow to work in detail with every fragment of the given text. The textbook is written for foreigners who study Russian and are interested in the Russian literature and culture. It can be used for both the classroom and independent studies.
