The Passport of the Russian Verb
This study aid is devoted to the description of 100 Russian verbs from the point of view of their inflection, lexical compatibility, word formation and functioning.
These verbs — the most frequently used and belonging to the lexical minimum of levels A1-B1 — are presented for foreign learners in full, with the sufficiency of linguistic knowledge about them needed to develop communicative competence.
With rare exceptions, verbs of motion are not included in the aid, since they are characterised by grammatical, semantic and word-formation particularities and require special presentation.
The verbs are given in alphabetical order, with a list of verbs at the end. For learners' self-assessment, a table of the endings of adjectives and nouns is included.
This reference material is necessary for preparing foreign learners for the certification test for the First Certification Level of general proficiency in Russian as a foreign language.
