RUSSIA AND AFRICA. THE INTERNATIONAL RUSSIAN LANGUAGE WEEK IN CAIRO HAS ENDED

From December 9 to 11, 2025, in Cairo, under the shadow of the ancient pyramids, the "International Russian language week in Africa" came to an end. The forum, organized with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo and MSLU, brought together scholars and educators from Russia, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Mali, Senegal, Zambia, Tanzania, Somalia, Uganda, the Congo, and other countries. The main focus was on teaching professionally oriented translation and working with ethnocultural vocabulary. Through creative workshops, participants mastered techniques of creative writing and learned how to convey "untranslatable" Russian concepts while preserving their meaning and cultural context. The publishing house "RUSSKY YAZYK". COURSES" presented educational literature for learning Russian as a foreign language. The event participants traditionally showed great interest in the books. The general director of the publishing house, Svetlana Yuryevna Remizova, delivered a report on the topic: "Traditional and new solutions in textbooks and teaching aids for the initial level of Russian as a foreign language instruction."
